EXPLORING THE 5 MARKS OF MISSION

A practical workshop for all laity and clergy to explore ways in which we can live out our Christian calling.

Bishop Garry, in his Synod charge, called us to think about the 5 marks of mission, and how these might inform our lives and the lives of our parishes. This day will give us a chance to explore these ideas, through practical workshops. Bishop Garry will introduce our day.

How do we authentically represent the Christian message in our context today?

2. Teach / Talk - Lynton Wade
Starting a new church - what we can all learn, what are the essentials for being transforming communities?

3. Tender - Geoff Ryan
How do we care for the poor and needy in our communities?

4. Transform - Constantine Osuchukwu and Rob Ferguson
How do we engage with and transform unjust structures, and be agents of peace and reconciliation in an increasingly fragmented and polarized world.

5. Treasure - Hedley Thomson
How do we care for the earth? Responding to climate change and issues of ecospirituality.
