Walking Humbly with God Mon 11th of Jan.

you are in: 2016 News Archive > Walking Humbly with God

Produced by Grassroots Publications: www.grassroots.com.au and written by our Canon Theologian Dr Tim Gaden, these Lenten Studies are commended to you by Bishop Garry and the Ministry Development Committee.

Every Lent is an opportunity to examine anew our walk with God. We are invited each year in this season to walk with the Israelites on their journey from slavery to freedom, and to walk with Jesus in the last week of his earthly life. As we do this, Jesus walks with us, pointing out the road ahead and holding us when we stumble.

In this down to earth series of Lenten studies, each week focusses on a different aspect of this humble walk with God:

Study One: Life as a journey
-- exploring our walk with God.

Study Two: Journeying in hope
-- keeping our eyes on the path ahead

Study Three: Food for the journey
-- Nourishment and refreshment on the way

Study Four: Forgiven and forgiving
-- the engine room that powers our steps

Study Five: Knowing yourself
-- understanding why we are making the journey

Study Six: True discipleship
-- the journey's ultimate test

To walk humbly with God, loving mercy and doing justice (Micah 6:8) has long been regarded as a powerful summary of the Christian life.

These studies are designed to help you to know more clearly how your walk with God is unfolding, and even more importantly, how God is walking with you.

"Walking Humbly with God " is a six part study of the readings and Psalms for the Sundays in Lent based on the readings for Year C.
